Dating from the 1950's, this impressive airline cabin container would have stored and served meals on board KLM flights.
The box is entirely made of bent plywood with its original paint and features a "slam lock" door mechanism. The door opening is activated by two metal press buttons and a handle, which bares the original engraved KLM tag and serial number.
Coming with its original ply moulded tray, the inside box features multiple runners that would allow more trays to fit in.
A very unusual find, and a great collectors item.
We think this airline meal container is ideal for a mini bar conversion or simply as a storage solution in any rooms.
This is a real rarity and in good vintage preserved condition.
There are naturally signs of use in the form of small superficial scratches on the panels and door. A slight dent on the top metal handle bar, is a quick reminder of the extensive mileage and good services given in the past!
